Measure in inches if you can — that is how cabinets are built.

Sketch the room by hand, even if it looks rough, and write down every measurement.

Step 1 — Take the measurements
Always measure corner to corner. When in doubt, measure twice: a one-inch mistake shows up at install.
Top view

Full wall
Measure every wall corner to corner, not just where the cabinets go.

Window
Measure from the nearest corner to the MIDDLE (center) of the window — not the edge. Also note the window width.

Sink, stove and fridge
Measure from the nearest corner to the MIDDLE (center) of each one — not the edge. Also note their width.

Doors
Measure from the corner to the door frame, and the door width.
- 5
Outlets, water, drain and gas
Mark them on your sketch: where the outlets, water valves, drain and gas line are.
Wall front view

Floor to ceiling
Measure the full height of the wall, floor to ceiling.

Window height
Measure up: from the floor to the bottom of the window. (The sideways distance, from the corner to the middle of the window, goes in step 2.)

Window to ceiling
Measure from the top of the window to the ceiling.

Anything unusual
Note beams, columns, soffits or uneven floors.
💡 Quick tips
- •Write each measurement on your sketch right away — don't trust your memory.
- •Ask someone to hold the end of the tape so it stays straight and accurate.
- •No kitchen yet, or still unfinished? That's fine, measure the walls anyway.
Step 2 — Take the photos
Photos show what measurements can't. These examples show you what we look for.

Photo 1: the whole room
Stand in a corner so the ceiling, floor and walls are all visible. Even if you have no kitchen yet.
Photo 2: each wall, floor to ceiling
One photo per wall, straight on. Windows, doors and appliances fully in the frame.
Photo 3: the corners
Shoot each corner to show how the walls meet, and everything against them.

Cropped
Missing the ceiling and floor — we can't see the height or the sides.
Too dark
Turn on every light and avoid shooting into a bright window.
Tilted and too close
Stand straight and a bit farther back so the whole wall fits.
Extra photos that really help

Step 3 — Send it to us
Before you send, check that you have everything:
- ✓Each wall's measurement, corner to corner
- ✓The floor-to-ceiling height
- ✓Window: distance from the corner to the middle of the window, and its width
- ✓Doors: distance from the corner and width
- ✓Sink, stove and fridge: distance from the corner to the middle (center) of each
- ✓Outlets, water, drain and gas marked
- ✓A photo of the whole room and one of each wall

The whole wall, corner to corner. That way we can see how to fit everything that works.
I'm not used to a tape measure in inches, what do I do?+
Use whatever unit you have (inches or centimeters) and write it next to each number. We do the conversion.
